My brother Chris R.i.P (Updated funeral details)

This is a fucker.
Chris has been diagnosed with cancer and has been given weeks to live.
Spent a couple of weeks in hospital, and got him home last Friday, after being diagnosed the previous Saturday. I'll be looking after him.
I know a few on here know him, so just wanted to make them aware.

I suspect the hammers will be giving you several excuses to raise a glass to him this Season.

The celebration today went really well with a great turn out of family and friends.
I also received the wonderful West Ham wreath from you lovely lot.

Celebration of life sends out a much happier message than funeral. It gives a justified reason to remember and share memories, character quirks and other good things about the person. Yes, of course there will be sadness, but the dominant tone is positive. As a rite of passage, it's far more appropriate than that nasty word funeral.
Mike the Hammer, this is something you'll be going through. You'll have lots of people there who only have good thoughts for you and will be holding your hand (metaphorically). Whatever your personal beliefs, try to imagine that he'll be there with you too. I hope it goes well.
